Alberto Aquilani has emerged as a target for Sampdoria, as the club look to strengthen their midfield.
The Blucerchiati’s new coach Vincenzo Montella has reportedly requested for the 31-year-old, a player who he is particularly familiar with after coaching him during his time in Fiorentina.
According to Tuttomercatoweb.com, Samp have identified the 31-year-old as a prime target and will try to secure his services on a six-month loan deal in January.
In addition to the former Liverpool player, Alessandro Diamanti is also on Sampdoria’s radar, with the Watford player set to be out of contract in the summer.
Aquilani is currently plying his trade in Portugal with Sporting Clube de Portugal, so far notching up 12 appearances in The Primeira Liga, while scoring two goals after making his summer switch from Florence in 2015.
