Pep Guardiola has praised Juventus after his Bayern Munich side were drawn with the reigning Italian champions in the Champions League Round of 16.
The Bavarians’ boss commended the mentality of the Bianconeri for persevering despite a sluggish start to the season which included defeats to rivals Napoli and Roma.
“Juventus are one of the best teams in Europe,” he said. “They did not have a great start to the season, but have found their way recently; they have a great mentality.”
The 44-year-old was also quick to play down the fact that his team are favourites entering the tie, insisting that the outcome is unpredictable.
“We [Bayern Munich] as the favourites?”
“If you want to say 50-50, then say 50-50; in February things will be clearer.”
