AC Milan’s Keisuke Honda has emerged as a target for Premier League side West Ham United after failing to make an impact during his time at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
The Japanese international has failed to hold down a regular spot in the Rossoneri’s starting line-up, as was evident during Milan’s match against Atalanta on Saturday night, when Honda remained on the bench for the bulk of the game, only entering the field after 73 minutes.
According to the Daily Star, West Ham are keen to sign the 29-year-old and could potentially make a move during the January transfer window.
The Hammers are not new to recruiting players from Serie A with Angelo Ogbonna and Alessandro Diamanti being perfect examples.
However, they make face stiff competition from London rivals Tottenham Hostpur, who have also shown an interest in signing the Rossoneri playmaker.
Honda has appeared a total of 43 times for Il Diavolo, while netting nine goals since his move from Russia in 2013.
