Marco Verratti will return to Paris Saint-Germain and continue to play for the club despite the terrorist attacks on the city

The French capital was targeted by Islamic State militants on Friday, with simultaneous attacks targeting the suburbs of the city as well as the Stade de France, where France were hosting Germany in a friendly.

“We’re all stunned by happened,” Donato Di Campli, Verratti’s agent, told Radio Crc.

“France has already been through this once before in January’s Charlie Hebdo attacks, but Friday’s was an even worse massacre.

“Verratti was not in France, but he’s not afraid to enter the country.

“Something major happened, which must be taken into account, but life goes on.

“Verratti will keep playing for PSG.

“Euro 2016 should be in France, absolutely.”

Verratti himself has not spoken about the attacks but he has given an interview outlining his goals for the future.

“The Champions League with PSG or the European Championship with Italy? Why should I choose? I want both,” Verratti told Ligue 1.com

“The Champions League would be a triumph with a group of friends and it would be an amazing feeling.”

“A trophy with Italy would be incredible because you have the support of the whole country and you can write your name in history.”
